a little under the weather

well, its been so long since i updated! i have a whole vacation to tell you all about.

unfortunately i have come down with a nasty ear infection, a fever, and the case of the "can't keep it downs". I will write more later when I am feeling better.

I made it

I made it past the 6 month mark! Whoo hoo! Saturday was the big day, and honestly, it was rather uneventful. Daddy did get some good pictures of me though, i guess to mark the occassion.

getting pretty excited for tonight's eagles/steelers preseason football game. it will be great fun to finally see the eagles in action. daddy talks about tehm so much, and granted, he did show me the superbowl and most of playoffs from last year. i think it will take me a while to have the appreciation, but i think i have already passed mommy in that area! she doesnt' seem as excited about the whole game.

speaking of mommy, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMY! I can't believe you are 28 years old! i am not even one yet! hope you have a good day though. daddy made all sorts of notes for her this morning, he got a bit earlier. i saw him put one on my crib too!

even more news...congratulation to aunt beth! she called last night and told us that her and PJ are getting married! can you believe it!? no doubt another little one will be on the way! Well, atleast that what daddy says!

not too much else going on. dadddy gave me and mommy a nice surprise on thursday when he decided to share his bonus with us. we went to babies r us and got 2 brand new car seats. i am ridin in style now baby. i haven't gotten to try out the one in daddy's car yet, but will later this afternoon when he picks me up from daycare. Should be good fun though.

grandpa took us out to dinner last night for mommy's birthday, and man, i was a good boy. i sat, fairly quietly, for over 2 hours at dinner! daddy even joked about me being so good that maybe they will take me to vegas with them later this week! (no offense, but i think i'd rather go to pop-pop and debbie's!) I sure will miss lucy though....

approaching 6 months!

as mommy might say..."only 4 days till my half birthday!" :)

Six months is coming fast, i think that it is some sort of milestone for kids my age. mommy keeps talking about eating solid foods, and how she can't wait till i can eat it. not sure what this phenomenon is all about, but it sounds a bit scary. i mean, i like my similac advanced. its good stuff. plus, its making me big and strong. i hope this food stuff can keep my energy levels up!

had a pretty quiet weekend. we went to short hills mall to get mommy a new suit for her interview on thursday. still not clear on what an interview is, or what it means, but apparently she has to dress up real nice for it. daddy and i saw her keep taking on and off different suits until she found one she liked. then on sunday we took a trip to Lambertville, near pennsylvania. they have a nice town there, and we went to this gigantic flea market. mommy seemed pretty excited, but daddy told me a secret, its just everyone selling the junk in their basement!

yesterday there was a new girl at daycare. she was pretty good, and she slept a lot. maybe some competition in the area of "good baby". i still think mommy and daddy should get a refund though since i am so good. everytime daddy comes in, miss pat tells him how good i am. i am glad i am finally getting credit! those other kids are so needy, its rather annoying. i mean, i can't even crawl or walk, but i'm not complaining!

daddy is all excited for next monday...besides it being MOMMY's birthday, its the EAGLES vs. STEELERS on monday night! My first eagles game! E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles! Daddy said i get to stay up late and wear my Eagles gear. Its gonna be great watching the game together. hopefully i won't be too tired since it is on so late, but i'll do my best.

sorry so long...been very busy!

sorry its been so long, but things have been hectic around here. daddy had to work a lot this week, so me and mommy have been picking up the slack! He didn't even mow the lawn last weekend. He is gonna have it tough this coming weekend, a long lawn and, its cleaning weekend!

to catch you up:
The wedding weekend was great! We had a good time in DE. Got to meet my great grand parents and a lot of other relatives. We went to the rehearsal dinner together, then i stayed with mom-mom and lucy saturday night while mommy and daddy went to the wedding. they had a really nice time! it was a tiring weekend though! a lot of people held me, including those crazy girl cousins of mine! ;)

got to the pool with mommy on wednesay (whom, by the way, passed her real estate exam last thursday! Congratulations MOMMY! We knew you could do it!). Granpa came over for dinner on wednesday too. he just moved himself back up closer to us, so it will be nice to have him close by and see him more often. i haven't been feeling all that well this week since wednesday. last night we went to the doctor who checked me out. (really i was checking her out...hehe). she said everything is fine, maybe since i am congested i am having a hard time digesting any extra "stuff" that i might be swallowing.

some progress being made...

so i forgot to mention this past weekend that i am sitting up now! i have been toying with the idea for quite some time, i really just prefer the upright position over laying down. apparently a natural progression would have been rolling over, then sitting up, but eh...whatever.

anyway, mommy and daddy are so proud of me that i am sitting up. they do talk alot though about rolling over and i can see as a result my tummy time each day has really increased. don't they realize that is hard to move dead weight! its quite a struggle trying to move on my belly, especially in this heat around here. soon enough though...crawling comes next, and i can't wait to get over by the coffee table and see whats under there!

this weekend is poppop and debbie's wedding, so we are heading to DE for a visit. i don't think i am going to the wedding, maybe to the rehearsal dinner, but not the wedding. daddy says i will get to meet a lot of family members that didn't get to meet me yet. i guess i better be good, as usual! haha.

oh...the pool was great on sunday. we swam a lot more and i was pooped! i think i am really starting to like the pool. me and mommy might go back this afternoon since it is sooo hot out!

what a week!

a bit of a crazy week here...when mommy dropped me off at daycare on thursday, there was a note on the door. i guess one of the kids (they won't tell us who), had some sort of strange virus. they said they took action to rid the place of it, but it won't be until 5-15 days until you know if you have it. i think mommy has been worried though. she keeps feeling my head and asking daddy if i feel warm?

yesterday was my second trip to the pool, first with mommy and daddy together, but we had a great time. in fact, i think we are going back today. it started off kind of rocky because some sweat (laced with sunscreen, the powerful stuff) dripped into my eye. This caused my eye to get red and irritated, then because of that, my skin around my eye got a little red. So, i think mommy and daddy thought i had "the virus", but it was just sunscreen dudes!

The pool was great though, i got to swim around a lot, and daddy took me into the big pool, until he got yelled at! Geesh...no diaper wearers in the big pool! Mommy and Daddy shoudl really familiarize themselves with the rules...its kind of embarrassing. Saw some other kids there too with their own mommy's and daddys. speaking of which, can someone remind me, that when I am about 1 and a 1/2, not to act like a bumbling fool! if one more kid points out that I am a baby, i am goign to scream. look buddy, i am just trying to enjoy the pool, oh, and ... Stop splashing me!

ok...rant over.

we capped off the day with a trip to our church's festival in hoboken. The st. ann's festival was pretty nice. it was a beautiful night. we also walked around hoboken, and i saw where mommy and daddy lived before they got married. glad i didn't live there, it was a walk up! Plus the idea of an occassional roach sort of turns my stomach!

ok, going down for my morning nap, then off to the pool, hope you all had a nice weekend!

happy anniversary!

happy anniversary to mommy and daddy today! two years ago they got married. they claim it feels like 10 years ago, whatever that means! i love you guys! oh, and lucy said happy anniversary too!

friday night mommy and daddy went out to celebrate their anniversary and left me with my babysitter suzanne. lucy really likes her, i am sort of indifferent. usually don't spend much time with her because its usually almost my bed time when she comes over...

i wasn't feelign all that well yesterday. i had a small fever according to miss pat at knowledge beginnings. she stuck her finger in my mouth to see if i had anything sharp in there, but she said she didn't feel anything. apparently in the coming weeks and months these razor sharp bones are going to be piercing through my gums. can't wait for that...ugh.

daddy heard that some people are actually reading my blog, which is great, but we are not sure if its true. no one has left a comment, or even a note to just say hi ry-man! you can comment on each post, just click the 'add comment' portion below my post.

where you been ry-man?

well, its been over a week...sorry bout that

had a pretty exciting week. aunt kelly and jake came to visit us from pittsburgh. it was a nice visit . they came in on monday and headed out thu morning. we got to go to our weekly new babies group meeting, then the next day we went to the beach. it was cool and cloudy though, and jake was not liking it that much, so upon everyone else clearing the beach, we took the hint and headed out. we beat daddy home from work, which that day was at the golf course. its still not clear to me what he actually does...but he seemed pretty happy about his score!

jake seemed pretty easy going. i noticed he is pretty quiet, even when he cries. i told him he just belt it out if he wants some attention, but his mom seemed more attentive than mommy and daddy. daddy always wants me to cry it out...mommy disagrees though (thanks mommy!)

daddy had friday off so we hung out quite a bit yesterday and today. he is getting pretty excited about eagles training camp starting. mommy just keeps telling him how sundays in the fall are going to be "different" this year. this seems to be an area of conflict...stay tuned!

In a couple weeks my pop-pop is getting married, so we will be heading down to Delaware for that. I think I am giong to be spending lots of time with mom-mom that day. i guess too i will get to meet a lot of our extended family.

wednesday in july

just another wednesday in july. actually its my first of many to come, but i heard daddy telling lucy that these are the dog days of summer. i think he thinks she is going to talk back to him one of these days...

yesterday we had a great trip to costco. mommy and daddy spent a lot of money there. daddy got his favorite buffalo bites, and i was even a good boy while he sat and ate! they got some beach chairs and a beach umbrella for aunt kelly and jake's visit next week. apparently it may be back to the beach for the day! should be interesting having another little bugger around the house! I hope mommy and daddy don't get confused as to who is who.

Last night i think i found my feet. i tried to get them into my mouth so i could taste them, but they are just too far away. it seems like an attainable goal though! Daddy got a real kick out of it though! i am here to entertain :)

starting to like the beach...

had a great holiday weekend. i didn't make it for the fireworks last night, but i did hear some bangs and pops. Daddy and Mommy watched the fireworks on tv this year, daddy was tired from being away all weekend.

we had a great time at uncle jim and aunt tracy's beach house. we got in late on friday night and left just before lunch time yesterday. Got two great days at the beach. A little girl even came up and started talking to me. She was OK, and I didn't have the heart to tell her, but her swim top was starting to fall down and reveal thigns that i shouldn't be seeing for years!

man was the boardwalk crowded though! so stimulating. i stayed up as long as i could to see as much as i could, but it was getting late. i guess i missed out on trying some of daddy or mommy's ice cream.

i just checked daddy's website, still no recent pictures. Hmmm...he did however put a link to my blog here. Oh well, he always tells me and mommy how busy he is!

should be a fairly quiet week this week. mommy is finally done real estate class, so she will be home in the evenings now for the most part. i think next week mommy said we are getting a vistitor, kelly and her son jake? not sure about this, but i am sure it will go well. nobody likes having a screaming baby around! ;)

its been a couple days, and probably a couple pounds! :)

I have been a hungry boy lately. My bottle just sometimes doesn't come fast enough. I overheard daddy joking with mommy and saying that i was a little beast. i guess i just can't get enough of the Similac Advanced. that is some good stuff!

excited for this weekend though...on friday night we are heading down to the beach with uncle jim and aunt tracy. it should be a great weekend, and from what i hear, the weather is supposed to be great.

not much else going on. daddy keeps saying he is going to post my blog as a link from his website, but he hasn't yet. maybe he will put up some new pictures of me! my fans are calling dad! come on!

a tiring monday

yesterday i got to catch up on some sleep from a stressful weekend. i got to "sleep" at day care where kids are constantly making noise. its much harder to sleep there than it is at home. although our neighbors are having a gigantic project being done in their yard which requires loud machinery to operate off and on. hopefully as I end my fourth month, things will get quieter!

Daddy came to see me at daycare, but I was sleeping apparetnly. Miss Pat told me later that he was there. When he came to pick me up, he was soaked by the rain. I got a little wet too when he took me out to the car, but it was fun. Going home is the best part! :) Mommy was really tired when we got home so me and daddy played while she took a short nap. She was very happy when she woke up. I impressed her yesterday with my "almost sitting up ability". Little does she know that I can write my own blog! hee hee...

This week I am working on turning over. I am just so heavy though, hopefully I will be strong enough to do it. Daddy and Mommy say that I am starting to kick my legs correctly and appear to be turning over. Man, they are pushy, but I love them!

what a weekend!

had a great weekend with mommy this weekend, not sure where daddy was most of the time. saturday morning mommy and jen took me to Chester NJ to a farm there. it was so hot. i sweated most of the time. we didn't do strawberry picking, instead we went in and out of a lot of little houses where you could buy things. mommy picked out a great bone for lucy, and when we gave it to her, she loved it! we got home and daddy was there eating lunch. soon after i napped, and then we were off again....

we wandered out to westfield nj for dinner with jen and bill. mommy and daddy argued on the way there because jen and bill were following us. daddy kept having to remind mommy that they were behind us. when we got to westfield, we didn't know exactly where to go, but finally made it to the jolley trolley. we had a nice time there, and the waitress said i was really cute!

Sunday, we got up early and drove to Delaware. Not sure where daddy went, but i heard mommy saying to someone about tickets to a phillies or something like that. we arrived in time to see Jake's baptism at the church. after the two hour car trip and then sitting in chuch, i got pretty tired of sitting, so i got mommy to take me outside. communication is not my strong suit, but she got it after some major fussing. the christening party was fun too. i got lots of compliments, and a lot of people held me. Before i knew it, we were back in the car and off to a quick stop at mom-mom's. she fed me my bottle, and we zoomed back home to NJ. The traffic was aweful! Sundays are not fun days on the NJTPK.

Today I am off to daycare to see miss pat and the crew...

...and it begins

so today my daddy decided that i should start posting on this thing called a "blog". he says they are an emerging source of editorial and journalistic content. naturally i listened to him cause he's my dad. its been almost five months so hope you all can catch up, oh, and welcome aboard. daddy said he might put a link to this from his website if i do a good job keeping it up to date.

yesterday i had a nice day at knowlege beginnings. i like it there because they have lots of toys to play with and lots of other little kids. those kids tend to cry a lot though. the best part is when daddy comes to visit me at lunchtime. today we played on the mat and he said i almost rolled over (whatever that means). miss pat was going to become a grandmother of twins, i wonder if that happened. she had to leave early.

i was a "fussy bucket" according to mommy last night. i was really tired, but didn't want to go to sleep. finally i slept for a while before my bath. i keep tricking daddy because its so funny. every time he puts me in the bath tub, i tinkle in it. he gets a little flustered and has to refill the tub! bath time is great, though! mommy and daddy tell me that i used to cry when i got a bath, but stopped soon after and started to really like it. they always say that they wish someone would put them in a giant tub and bath them. not sure why that doesn't happen at this point...

today should be a relaxing day...mommy said a mason is coming over to estimate some work on a new patio. i bet lucy will get pretty excited! she gets so happy when people come over. we have had a few close calls with her tail whacking me in the face, but i like watching her. daddy always says he can't wait till i'm old enough to take lucy out and play. well, neither can i!

tonight i have play group with some other mommy's and kids. we are going to a new house this time. last time it was at our house, it was nice cause we ddidn't have to go anywhere! tomorrow mommy is taking me strawberry picking, whatever that is. daddy doesn't seem impressed by it, thats for sure. we are going with mommy's friend jen.
